This watch is now in incredible condition, and I have tested it for months to ensure it is running perfectly, which it is! It is withing the standards set in 1974 of +- 15 seconds per month.
This rare Seiko Quartz QR from 1974
I test watches for months before working on them to ensure they are running well, and this one has run consistently well. Once I was confident this watch was running well and worth working on, I stripped the watch down and refinished all the components including the crystal. This takes roughly 10 hours for each watch.
Once the watch has its final clean and is reassembled, it is tested again for many months for consistency and accuracy to ensure it is still running as accurately as before which this one is!
I am happy that this watch is suitable to now be passed on to a new owner to enjoy!
The movement has not been serviced but if you want it serviced, I can refer you to a professional business who will service the movement for less than £90.
If you want to know why these watches are so special, you must watch this video!

I am selling this watch on a new genuine Seiko leather strap which I imported from Japan, but I do occasionally have the genuine steel bracelets for sale which can be bought separately.

SEIKO QR From The 70’s
Seiko QR watches house the amazing 3800 series quartz movement. This was the first full production quartz movement and was used in several watches in the 70's.
They were very expensive and considered premium high-end watches due to the technology being so new, Seiko also made these to an incredible standard.
These movements have more in common with modern automatic movements than they do with modern quartz. They are:
Built on a metal base plate
Fully serviceable
Jewelled
Made of metal
Beautifully engineered to last
There is much more to these incredible movements.... Below is a link to a video I posted on my YouTube channel highlighting just why these watches are so incredible!
