Incredible Example Working Perfectly From 1974 Seiko Quartz QR 3863 7010 English/Kanji

This rare Seiko Quartz QR from 1974 is now in incredible condition and is working perfectly.

I test watches for months before working on them to ensure they are running well, and this one has run consistently at +/- 1 second per day since it arrived.

Once I was confident this watch was running well and worth working on, I stripped the watch down and refinished all the components including the crystal. This takes roughly 10 hours for each watch.

Once the watch has its final clean and is reassembled, it is tested again for consistency and accuracy to ensure it is still running as accurately as before which this one is!

I am happy that this watch is suitable to now be passed on to a new owner to enjoy!

I am selling this watch on a brand new genuine Seiko leather strap which I imported from Japan but I do occasionally have the genuine steel bracelets for sale which can be bought separately.

SEIKO QR From The 70’s

Seiko QR watches house the amazing 3800 series quartz movement. This was the first full production quartz movement and was used in several watches in the 70's.

They were very expensive and considered premium high-end watches due to the technology being so new, Seiko also made these to an incredible standard.

These movements have more in common with modern automatic movements than they do with modern quartz. They are:

Built on a metal base plate

Fully serviceable

Jewelled

Made of metal

Beautifully engineered to last
